The multi-age class offers the opportunity for a wonderful neighborhood-like grouping with 16-18 children ages 3 through 5 years with two lead teachers. The students are encouraged to grow in their independence, confidence and creativity through thoughtful play experiences. In these classes, children are building observation skills, speaking skills, self-regulation, problem-solving, and their love of learning through the promotion of their creativity and curiosity. (Children entering these classes are required to be fully toilet-trained.)

Build on children’s’ interests
Teachers actively listen and use what they observe to build on children’s’ interests and provide materials and experiences that promote the children’s predisposition to learn.
Individual learning styles
Individual learning styles in the children are valued and teachers work to provide individualized help so children can succeed.
Positive peer relationships
Positive peer relationships are encouraged and nurtured as children mentor one another throughout the day.
Eliot Chapel Nursery School offers play-based, hands-on learning for the whole child. With an amazing playground and garden space, the children experience outdoor play every day. Each half-day class is led by two lead teachers that are caring, experienced and nurturing.
